Albert and I went on a mini honeymoon over to Marin County this past weekend! Just 35 miles north from the Golden Gate Bridge via Highway 1, it makes for a relaxing day trip. Not to mention full of amazing food. We first read about the places we visited in  Travel & Leisure’s 100 Greatest Trip Guidebook if you’d like to hear some recs…

We started off at Cowgirl Creamery & Cantina for lunch at Point Reyes Station. Best thing we got: cheese and charcuterie plate, house-cured gravlax, kale salad, and still-warm bread from Brick Maiden. 

Then we dipped our toes and picked out seashells at the beaches at Point Reyes. (I still think McClure’s Beach from my past visit was the best.)

Devoured some delicious oysters at Marshall Store & Oyster Bar, a seafood shack that prepares oysters in all kinds of ways. Albert said they were the best oysters he’s had (which is saying a lot!) and now we want to bring all of our favorite people here. 

For the rest of the day, we went to Nick’s Cove for clam chowder and dessert, and chatted about our goals and dreams. Just my kind of day.
